| One of the Ionian Islands. The surface of the island is rocky but the hills do not exceed 503m. It is mostly uncultivated, but some parts produce corn, wine and olive-oil. the honey is excellent. The beaches are worth the walk. There are Minoan sites and deserted Byzantine settlements, 16c castle. A sister island Andikithira is also a place worth investigating. Ferry are not frequent so plan your trip well.
